I get these smoked sausages pretty much every other week at the grocery store for a couple of reasons. 1). It’s cheap! Usually 2 for $5.00 and they are low in calories (1 serving is only 110 calories).
I’ve been sick all week, just went back to work for the first time today and by the time I got home, I was TIRED! I think its the most I’ve moved in 5 days!
So this was the first thing staring at me when I opened the fridge. And they are already cooked, so all you have to do is heat it up!
On the side I made my famous roasted potatoes. I cut up 5 medium potatoes (which I washed!) and left the skins on.
Throw them in a skillet with about 1 TB. olive or canola oil. To the potatoes I add 1 tsp. chili powder, 1 tsp. cumin and salt and pepper. Cook covered, stirring occasionally until the outsides are browned and you can pierce them with a fork (so the insides are done).
And, I am starting a new trend with dinners this week. I am cutting up multiple fruits and/or veggies to go with dinner, not just one. Not only does it fill you up, but it seems like you are eating a lot!!
Here is my plate:
Also, with the smoked sausage for another quick dinner, is adding it to Zatarain’s jambalaya mix found near the pasta section. Very quick and easy dinner for sure!
Mm looks good! My mom used to have fruit alongside dinner a lot growing up. I never had Zatarain’s before moving in w/ Johnny and I couldn’t eat 2 bites! It was way too salty! They have a low sodium version now, but I’m still too scared to try it!
Fabulous idea. Sometime, we really need something quick to cook.
I like Zatairain’s low sodium, although homemade jambalaya is easy enough and much better! I know sometimes out of the box is how you have to roll.
Nice, quick and easy…I like.
good and fast… love the kielbasas myself
cutting up multiple fruits and veggies for your plate is always a good way to get in more FOOD! i always love adding a couple veggies because then i can keep munching longer 🙂
I do this all the time. The Zatarain’s is really good. Another idea is to dice up the smoked sausage and saute with some diced bell peppers real quick and toss that over yellow rice. They sell the yellow rice in easy to make packages now and it is super simple.
Yum….I need to look for these sausages….remind of of kielbasa that we used to eat growing up:)
This is a great idea, would love those sausages! Hope you have a nice and restful weekend!
Lovely sausages! A nice meal!
Cheers,
Rosa
I love using chicken/turkey sausages when I’m tired too! Happy weekend!
