Diana from Pom Wonderful was nice enough to send me a free case of Pom Wonderful to try. Of course I said Yes! My kids were very excited! I’m pretty sure they have never had it before and all three of them loved it!
Here are some stats you may not know about pomegranate juice:
- It may improve cardiovascular health
- Great source of antioxidants, higher than red wine, cranberry juice or green tea
- Pom Wonderful grows their own pomegranates
- Pom Wonderful is the only pom juice that is 100% authentic pomegranate juice
- It tastes great!
I was trying to think of something different to make with it. I’ve read other food bloggers recipes and they looked awesome! I’ve been eating oatmeal for breakfast every morning for the last few weeks and I decided I would add some pom juice to my oatmeal.
I had:
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups hot water
1/2 cup Pom Wonderful juice
1 small apple diced (with skin on)
2 TB. ground flax seeds small handful of dried cranberries
I add hot water at work, then cook it in the microwave for about a minute or two
Let me tell you…it was so good! I like my oatmeal more on the soupy side, so feel free to add less water if you like yours different. I really can’t think of a healthier breakfast to start my day. Plus it took me a while to eat the whole thing and even better, I wasn’t hungry until lunch! The total calories of this breakfast was 340. Thanks again Diana for sending me the Pom Wonderful juice, my whole family is enjoying it and I will certainly be buying more down the road!
What a great idea to use pomegranate in your oatmeal!
I’m a huge fan of my POM juice!!! I love it in oats and oat bran…
Awesome idea!
Great idea! I usually eat oats at work because they’re quick and easy – and we have a microwave and water.
I was really surprised about that antioxident graph – weren’t you!? It’s like a little miracle fruit.
