Happy Memorial Day! +101 days of summer challenge hosted by my sister

Itβs been perfect weather this weekend in Chicago and despite thunder and lightening over night, its sunny and gorgeous today!
Iβm glad the weather is nice because my daughter Claire marches in the local parade for Girl Scouts. It brings back so many memories of memorial day. When we were little, my sister and I would be in the same parade for girl scouts or if you decorated your bike you could also be in the parade. We would get streamers and weave them in and out of our wheel spokes and put fringe on the handle bars, it was so much fun.
After the parade today is a cookout with all the girl scout families which is always a great time.
For any of you who have loved ones in the military right now, or have lost loved ones my thoughts are with you.
Enjoy your day hopefully with parades, and food and family!

OK, fast forward, after I posted this and by the time the parade started at 11:30 a.m., clouds and LOTS of thunder and lightening pretty much ruined the parade! The girls ended up not walking (thank goodness) and we were all soaked to the bone with all the rain!!
If you havenβt gotten a chance to check it out, my sister is hosting a summer challenge. Just make a goal and be part of a great team of 22 fantastic ladies! Itβs not too late to sign up, you can e-mail her at bdl319@gmail.com
My goal is to be in a size 12 by the end of the summer and do my P90X workouts 3x a week!!
And on Saturday, my daughter Claire who is 8 took these pics in our back yard!
