Getting over my fear

I would say about 99% of the time, I DO NOT buy meat with the bones in it. I just don’t like cooking with them, or picking the meat off, etc….

BUT, my sister kept on telling me how much cheaper it is to buy bone in chicken for example instead of boneless, skinless, chicken breasts. Looking at the grocery store flyer this past weekend, I noticed my local store had buy one get one free on all their meats. So, I circled whole chicken, and was going to get one.

It was only $4.65 for the whole chicken and I got one free, so that’s a great deal!! My sister got us a digital thermometer for cooking meat for Christmas, so I won’t ever have to worry if I am overcooking it.

The verdict? YUM! (although I made my husband carve it!) It turned out great, and I have enough meat leftover to make soup! I’m going to try to make different things now cooking with meat WITH bones and see what happens!

Jenn’s chicken

I just added sliced potatoes and carrots and onion to the roasting pan and that was it!

Does anyone else have a cooking fear like that?
