Home made kit kat bars

I have been making these for Christmas for about the last 8 years or so. Β One day, I was at Walmart, stocking up on flour, sugar, etc… for baking cookies, and I happened upon a huge hunk of chocolate called Almond Bark. Β Its chocolate for making candies, such as chocolate covered almonds, chocolate with bits of candy cane crushed in it, dropped onto wax paper. Β I read the back of the chocolate package and it had a recipe using graham crackers, peanut butter dipped into the melted chocolate. Β How easy! Β I got the stuff to make it, came home and the first bite I took, I yelled β€œI just made a kit kat bar!” Β It tastes just like it. Β And like I said you need 3 things. Β The chocolate, the graham crackers andΒ peanut butter. p1010007.jpgΒ
  1. I should mention, DO NOT use cheep-o graham crackers! Β I have made that mistake Β before and when you try to break the graham crackers into 4’s, they just crumble in your hands and it is super frustrating!p1010010.jpgStep 1: Β Start with the graham crackerp1010015.jpgStep 2: Β Break them into 4 pieces.p1010021.jpgStep 3: Β Put peanut butter into the middlep1010024.jpgStep 4: Β Melt the chocolate in 20 second increments in the microwave until melted.p1010029.jpgStep 5: Using a fork, dip the graham cracker into the chocolate until completely covered.p1010030.jpgStep 6: Let them dry on wax paper for a few minutes until set. Β p1010041.jpgReady to eat!*One thing that you can’t use in place of this chocolate is chocolate chips. It won’t set and you will have wet kit kat bars! Β You can buy this chocolate where the chocolate chips are sold at Jewel or Dominick’s, or Walmart. Β You can make these in about 20 minutes! Β They are a great last minute gift to make someone in your family! Β  Β  Β  Β
