Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (96%)
  • 1/2 white onion diced
  • 4 baby bell peppers diced
  • 3 cloves garlic diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 8 oz uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

  • cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside.
  • In a large pot, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add the diced onion, garlic and peppers. Saute for a few minutes so they start to soften.
  • Add the ground beef, and cook breaking up the meat until browned.
  • Add the spices and canned tomato sauce.
  • Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add the cooked pasta and stir. Cook for 2 more minutes.

Notes

This makes 6 servings - a generous 1.5 cups per serving - 7 peronal points for me on my Weight Watchers plan.
